Differential GPS Antenna

The SBA Differential GPS Antenna will interface with both the Garmin III and our Garmin 128 fIxed unit (or any other GPS) to give that 10 metre precision - great for angling, diving, anchoring, or simply reentering your home port after noting the precise co-ordinates.

The SBA.1 is a robust unit, with the entire receiver neatly contained in a mushroom-style antenna - no separate black box, extra cables, or whip aerial. It's easy to install and has an active 2 channel systemone channel locking onto the strongest signal, with the other scanning the frequency spectrum and automatically changing if a better signal is detected. You can also 'force' the rig onto your desired channel which suits my preference for having some user control. For a cruising boat, DGPS is good, but not perfect. There are aberrations caused by weather, ionosphere shift, RF swamping and even chart datum. This unit should help fIrm up our opinions of differential GPS following our recent mix of good and bad experiences. We'll let you know if the SBA.1 irons them out at £296.
